What's Your Approach To Wedding Photography?

The key word would be 'natural'. My approach to your day all centres around being laid back and capturing your day as it really happens. I love nothing more than mingling amongst your guests, allowing me to capture some moments that you'll inevitably have missed while you're busy doing the bride and groom thing!  As I always say, I'm not for everyone. I only work with couples who get excited about their wedding photography and really want to create some amazing images. If your wedding photography isn't that important to you or you're just after 'a few snaps' then we probably won't click (pardon the photography related pun).

Do You Take Group Photographs Of Friends & Family?

I do - and even these are kept fun, light-hearted and as spontaneous as possible.....No "3-2-1 Cheese" here.

I'm always looking for natural, unforced smiles and by keeping this portion of the day as brief as possible, I find this can always be achieved. I also find that it's a good idea for you to appoint a family member or close friend to do the rounding up duties for group photographs - that way I'm able to keep a lower profile on your wedding day and therefore get the shots that we want.

How Long Should I Set Aside For Portraits And What Will Happen?

Although this is definitely one of my favourite parts of the day, I won't keep you from the party for too long. 20-30 minutes tops.

By the time it comes to whisking you away for your couples portraits, I'll have already scouted some lovely locations within your venue or within the grounds for us to take some beautiful images. I love to work with natural light so where we go will often depend on where the light is best. I also work closely with your wedding planner and/or master of ceremonies to make sure we're running within time constraints, so you'll never be late for anything important!

The portraits themselves are, again, very relaxed and you'll be asked to do nothing in the way of stiff, cheesy posing. It's all about natural, spontaneous, real emotion.

What If It Rains/Snows?

That's by no means the end of the world - some of the most stunning wedding images in history have been created during adverse weather conditions. If it really is too wild for us to venture outside for photographs, rest assured that I've always scouted out a lovely indoor or covered spot for us ahead of time. Alternatively, if you're a fan of rain or snow and you don't mind getting wet then all of my equipment is waterproof and I always carry a spare towel so I'm game!

How Long Does It Take To Receive Our Photographs?

My normal turnaround time is, on average, six to eight weeks. This can, however, increase very slightly during peak periods. After that you'll receive a link to you very own private online gallery, from which you can instantly download and/or share all of your images.

You also get a full print release for all of your photographs, meaning you can share and print the photographs for your own personal use. In other words, they're yours to keep forever.

Oh, and make sure to keep an eye on my Insta Page for little sneak previews a few days after your wedding too!

What Equipment Do You Use?

I'll try not to get too geeky, but here goes: I use two full-frame Sony A7iii cameras along with a selection of prime lenses. I carry backups of everything (and in some cases I have backups of the backups) - you can't be too careful!

Are You Insured?

Absolutely. I have full business liability and indemnity insurance.

Are Our Images Safely Stored?

As safely as is humanly possible. At the end of your wedding day I back up every image I take onto multiple hard drives as well as secure cloud storage.

How Do We Book & How Far In Advance?

I'm currently taking bookings for 2023/2024. My diary tends to fill up rather quickly so I'd recommend getting in touch as soon as you've set a date for your wedding.

To book just get in touch by hitting the button below and we'll get the ball rolling. Almost everything is done online too so there's no tedious paperwork to fill out.
